On 31 January 2020, the presentation of the winners of pilot concession tenders in the Olvia and Kherson ports took place.
QTerminals – the Qatar port operator – as a concessionaire of the property of the Olvia Stevedoring Company, intends to develop the port as a grain hub. The start of the concession project is planned for April / May this year. In total, the Qatari company intends to invest USD 124 million by 2024 in this project. Olvia is the first international project for the company.
Risoil-Kherson has won the concession tender for the property complex of the SE “Kherson Sea Commercial Port”. Risoil-Kherson – a consortium of Peter Oil and Chemicals (Georgian Industrial Group) and RISOIL S.A. (Switzerland) – plans to create a regional logistic hub in the Kherson port, creating conditions for exports of products made in the Kherson region and nearby regions to international markets. The creation of logistics chains and the development of river freight traffic, taking into account the economic potential of the Dnipro River is envisaged. The total investment of the concessionaire company will make UAH 300 million, the guaranteed annual concession payment will amount to almost UAH 12 million.
