Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) To Have Granted Concession Permit in the Olvia Port

The QTerminals company (Qatar) has won the concession tender at the Olvia sea port to invest UAH 3,4 billion in the port development over five years.
An important condition of the concession agreement was the need to obtain the concentration permit from the AMCU.
In late January 2020, the AMCU received a statement from QTerminals W.L.L. (Doha city, Qatar) to request for the indirect receipt in the concession of assets belonging to the SE “STEVEDORING COMPANY” OLVIA” (Mykolaiv city) and the SE “UKRAINIAN SEA PORTS AUTHORITY”(Mykolayiv city) and jointly ensure the economic activity on providing stevedoring services in the specialized sea port of Olvia.
QTerminals W.L.L. is the leading port operator of the State of Qatar and operates maritime terminals in the largest port of Qatar – Hamad.
QTerminals Group is not currently operating in Ukraine, so there is no structural change in the stevedoring market.
Considering that the concentration does not lead to monopolization or significant restriction of competition in the commodity markets of Ukraine, the AMCU granted permission for the declared concentration.
